POETRY

In 1993 I was still in the U.S.
One Sunday afternoon, sharing a Superbowl barbecue at some friends' house, I happened to meet a lady (Gail Robinson) who had written a nice poem about women and their worth. I think I should share it with you. I really liked the poem, and she wrote it for me on a napkin. Here it goes:
Men take it for granted
we will accept our lot -
Maybe you don't know it but
we're just getting hot.

Your double standard is out of date
I loathe it more each day.
If your eye starts to wonder,
Don't think mine will stay.

In physical strength you outweigh me
In powers of mind I am strong
Man's greatest weakness is woman
A woman such as I -

I will survive as my own person
I dare you to take it, just try.
